Hi I'm Alicia Bergman, the artist and designer for all of Ariesoul Jewelry handcrafted necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, and I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. Thank you for taking the time to read more about me. I realize you have many choices for handmade jewelry websites, so I'd like to share with you a few thing that I believe set Ariesoul Jewelry apart and make us unique. First of all, every single necklace, pair of earrings, or bracelet is one-of-a-kind and not replicated...because you are special and unique!



Instead of strictly following one thematic style, many of my handmade jewelry designs are even uniquely different from one another. Any one given necklace, for instance, may defy labels or categorization...and this also reflects who I am as a person. Philosphically and metaphorically speaking, I live along the borders and thus so do my handcrafted jewelry creations. I do not pre-plan the pieces or style of the pieces I make in advance- I let my intuition, mood, and senses guide me in that particular moment I sit down in front of my beads. It is often a suprise to even me what ends up taking form a few hours later. Sometimes I crave to create necklaces, bracelets, or sets that end up having a funky, chunky, and bohemian feel to them, bright and tropical, tribal and earthy, or classic, sophisticated, and elegant. There have been a few instances where I have accidentally spilled a box of beads on my table, and ending up making a necklace based on the lovely color and texture combinations lying there, that I would not have thought to put together otherwise. I welcome and appreciate serendipity. And of course it is always fun when I am able to match up the piece of handcrafted jewelry I made with the person I didn't even realize I was making it for!



There are many sources of inspiration for the artistic designs of my handcrafted necklaces, earrings, and bracelets; many are motivated from the international traveling I've done, especially the interplay of glass beads and metal you find with street-side handcrafted beaded jewelry in India, or the bright and cheerful rainbow of colors you find in jewelry and decorations in South America. Other sources of inspiration include the beauty of nature, changing seasons, scents, and yes, even sweets and confections. Putting just the right combination of colors together together is my passion. I believe that a lot can be expressed as well as impacted through the way we use and wear colors.



So how did I get to where I am today? My journey of making jewelry began after being inspired one day by packet of beautifully colored seashells in a craft store. I along with others was quite surprised when several months later I was selling my pieces in local boutiques. But I come from a family of artists so it shouldn't have been too surprising that I had some bottled up creativity waiting to find its expression! I am proud to make all one-of-a-kind pieces; I just love beautiful department store jewelry, but there is something very special about owning a pair of earrings, or a necklace, or bracelet that you know nobody else has. I also take pride in my craftmanship and only make and sell things that I myself would buy and wear.
